Peter has now completed the final pages of his two-act Cabaret/Song Cycle, Desire.
The Vocal score is ready (piano reductions nightmare over!) Musicians and singers are now being approached and rehearsals will start soon, leading to a sring/summer performance in Central London. (See the Events listing on this website for details of forces required.)
It is intended that there will also be high-profile guest artistes taking part in this first performance – check here regularly for updates.
Peter is hoping to visit Saqqara Egypt in late 2008, to follow up on the marathon  February 2007 Egypt visit.  This will provide another opporunity to liaise with Egyptologists, Arabic musicians and others as part of his background research into the Ptolemaic period in which his new music theatre piece “The Twins” will be set.
Librettist Peter Scott-Presland has completed the first draft of the libretto for The Twins. Set in Memphis and Saqqara, in the shadow of the Step Pyramid,  during the reign of Ptolemy VI, this tragic tale of two young twin girls should be better known, and their story is compellingly operatic.  A few musical sketches have already been made...
Librettists sought!
Peter is looking for a librettist to produce a bi-lingual text in Czech and English for the planned opera set in Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia – i.e. he intends to set the music with English and a Czech text so performances can be in either language.
A bilingual librettist (Czech-English) with good German for certain sections is therefore required.
